I am a math-science educator and learning coach who specializes in helping adult students make comprehension breakthroughs to achieve your goals. By leveraging your particular strengths, I guide you in mastering new concepts and integrating them with your existing knowledge, insights and intuition. I also help you access the joy of discovery.
My teaching specialties span general math, algebra, trigonometry, geometry, probability, pre/calculus, and classical physics. I also specialize in teaching problem-solving strategy, the scientific method in general, and the nature of scientific inquiry/knowledge.
I have taught secondary- and college-level math/physics through private practice, in K-12 school, and at university. My background includes a B.A. in physics from Wellesley College and an M.S. in physics from the University of Colorado-Boulder, along with professional training in adult learning models. My own science advisers/mentors included a Nobel laureate and a MacArthur Fellow.
Hourly tutoring rate: $30 or $35, depending on session location.
